Extension Program Coordinator

Darren Lochner

Darren Lochner has been the University of Minnesota program coordinator in Ramsey County since 2020. He has been a Master Gardener in Hennepin County since 2001.

Office hours

The Program Coordinator hosts office hours every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Maplewood Extension Office – "The Barn" (2020 White Bear Ave, Maplewood, MN 55109). Volunteers should sign up if they would like to use the office hours.

Volunteers can request to meet in person at the Extension Office, over the phone, or online via Zoom

Volunteers are what make this program a success.

New Volunteer Committee

The New Volunteer Committee oversees the recruitment and application processes, and organizes orientation, mentoring, and support of new volunteers ("interns").

Education Committee

The Education Committee organizes the educational portion for volunteers, including monthly meetings speakers, Garden Gate Tours, and other special events.

MARCOM Committee

The Marketing & Communications (MARCOM) Committee coordinates communications for the volunteer program, like websites, newsletters, project signage, and social media.
